We are pleased to welcome Pastel Artist, Sandra Cherk.
Sandra began painting in 1990, while living in Greece with her husband and young daughter. Wanting to capture the feelings of different villages and islands, she started painting with watercolors.

Beach Grasses 18"x 24" I had noticed a slight breeze in the air and the beautiful colors of the beach grass in the late afternoon sun. I was inspired. | |

When I go out for walks I use the camera like a tool to make visual and mental notes. I use the images I have collected combine with feeling I wish to convey and creative talents to produce the images you see below. My intention is to share the wonder I experience, with you. |

Larkspur Creek, giclée print 21" x 18" The rich tapestry of vegetation and shapes as well as the reflections in the creek are intriguing. In the background Mt. Tamalpais, where I grew up, brings a sense of place. |

Lefktron, 8.5" x 10.5"
This simple scene reminds me of a particular village in Greek, and has classic the feel of so many Greek villages. |

Path Through Olives, 14.5" x 11.5" I was taking a morning walk through the trees, from one small village to another. It was warm, but not yet hot, noisy with cicadas. |

Road to Agios Nikolaos, giclée print. 16" x 12" The place speaks for itself- mountains at the edge of the sea, early morning shadows and the road traveled. |

Rancho View, 12.5" x 18.5" A view from a contemporary Mexican ranch home- there are interesting plants with contrasting greens. |

Sotcher Lake, 10.5" x 14.5" A scene in the Mammoth Lakes, wild and calm, later in the day we would watch a bear walk around the lake. |

Strata, 11" x 8" original watercolor. My love for geology peeking through- these sedimentary rocks create an interesting composition in Pt. Lobos. |

Vineyards, giclée print. This vista is from a quiet road in west Marin. |

Wilder Hike, giclée print
While taking a hike at Wilder Ranch, on the California coast, I was pulled to this scene of trees, their shadows and the path drawing me on. |

Wilder Hills, giclée print.
This brings back the memory of a crisp spring morning, when the trees were budding, and the new grass in the background was electric. |
